$10,000 scholarships to be given
The Skillman Foundation is celebrating its 50th anniversary by awarding 50 students a scholarship worth $10,000 each in partnership with the Coleman A. Young Foundation. The Promising Youth Legacy Awards aim to encourage young leaders to serve and contribute to the revitalization of Detroit and Michigan.Applicants must have a record of leadership, reside in Wayne, Oakland or Macomb counties, be 15-20 years old with a high school or college GPA of 2.5 or greater or a high school diploma or GED. Applications can be found at www.skillman.org and are due by 5 p.m. June 15.
